Author’s Note: I don’t think I’m ever going to be able to finish writing a longer fic before I start posting it. I did have good intentions with this story, but... I guess it was inevitable that I wouldn’t be able to keep the resolution. *shakes head*
Many thanks to my wonderful beta, Calenlass, for her work on this. *hugs*
Summary: As the fiftieth anniversary of Elessar’s coronation approaches, there is murder in Minas Tirith. It is up to the King (with plenty of help from his family and friends, of course) to find out who the killer is.
Warnings: Well, it is a murder mystery, but I don’t think there is anything particularly graphic or violent – if any of the chapters seem that way as this goes on, I’ll have a separate warning on them.
Rating: PG
Chapter 1: The Woman in the Garden
The day began like any other. King Elessar, with a kiss for his wife and a pat on the head for his youngest daughter, hurried to his courtroom after breakfast, followed ten minutes later by his son Eldarion. His wife, Arwen, waited in the breakfast room until her children had all left; her oldest daughter to stroll in the gardens with a certain young captain of the City Guard, her two younger daughters to go to the library for their morning lesson in political science.

Chapter II: A Young Warrior
Estel sat up and groaned in frustration. He had been tossing restlessly for hours, unable to sleep, worrying about his archery training, which was due to begin the next day.

Author’s Note: I didn’t intend to start posting this for a while, but the first chapter has been done and waiting for months, and I finally decided I couldn’t resist. It’s meant to be a series of one-shots rather than a multi-chapter story, so updates mayn’t be more often than once a month or so, if that.
This is set immediately after Many Meetings, with a young Estel who does not yet know his heritage.
Many thanks to my wonderful beta, Calenlass, for advice, suggestions and patience with questions. *hugs*
Summary: On the advice of Glorfindel and his brothers, a young Estel has decided to spend a winter in Mirkwood learning archery and getting better acquainted with Legolas and Thranduil. He learns that the Elves of the Woodland Realm are both very different from and very similar to the ones he knows.
Warnings: None, except for the usual fluff, and maybe some angst if the opportunity presents itself.
Rating: PG
Chapter I: Daughter of Men
Legolas Thranduilion.
I have heard the name, of course. I have heard a great deal about you, as well... Not because you are Thranduil’s son, but because there are many here in Imladris who are fond of you.

Where Battle Ends
September 1, Morning
“We are doing all we possibly can,” Thranduil ground out. “The warriors are on duty day and night. We have doubled the guard on the Elf-path and the southern border. I cannot ask more of them than this. I cannot imagine what you want me to do.”
“How am I to know what you should do?” Norgalad snapped. “I have never claimed to be a warrior. Lord Arbellason is commander of the army. Perhaps he has a suggestion.”

Summary: The Rangers are expecting a new weapons master. When he arrives, they find him not quite what they bargained for.

Part I: An Unusual Man
A Settlement of the Dúnedain in Eriador
“Why is he not here yet?” one of the boys demanded.
For what he was certain was at least the fiftieth time that evening, Thandraug explained. “He is coming from very far away. He lives in one of the outlying villages. He may have been delayed on the road.”

And now to the final part…
Part III: Consequences
“I take it that there will be a bottle of Dorwinion on the outcome of our wager?” Aragorn asked, his lips twitching beneath his beard.
“A bottle of Dorwinion?” Thranduil hissed. “Oh, yes, I will have that Dorwinion. Trying to confuse me and delay my return would have been bad enough by itself, but this… I would never have expected this of my own son!” He glared at the intruder. “Legolas will face my displeasure for this.”

Part I: Hunting
“Hold him, my king.”
Thranduil gave the healer a terse nod, tightening the arm that was wrapped around his son. In response, Legolas squeezed his hand weakly.
“Do not look so worried, Ada,” he murmured. “I will be fine.”

Summary: One-shot. A very young Legolas is visiting Imladris, and spending most of his mornings having lessons with Erestor... Until Elrohir makes the Elfling a rash promise, and has to find a way to keep it without causing any trouble.

Rating: PG
Elrohir was passing by the library when he heard the unusual sound of Erestor’s raised voice. He paused for a moment – he had planned to go riding with Elladan and Arwen, and he was already late. But the temptation to find out what their young visitor had done to extract that half-exasperated, half-plaintive tone from Elrond’s advisor was too great to resist.

14. All Under Heaven (Pearl S Buck)

Already I am thinking of other things I want in that list. *sigh* And realizing that an alarming number of those books are an alarming number of years (or decades) old.
The good news is that we're having the first of the pre-monsoon showers even now as I type. It's just the merest of drizzles, nothing like the torrents that are likely to come later, but it's enough to settle the dust and take the edge off the heat. Even better, it's a sign that the monsoon will break on schedule in a couple of weeks. *g*

Summary: Sometimes, even in relatively peaceful times and relatively peaceful places, accidents happen. Characters: Mainly Legolas, Aragorn, Elladan and Elrohir.
Disclaimer: This was written purely for pleasure. Not one Elf (unfortunately) is mine.

A Chapter of Accidents
Mirkwood, around Year 2200 of the Third Age
“Peace, Elfling?” Elrohir demanded, staring at Legolas. “Peace? This is how you dress in what you call a time of peace?”
“No,” Legolas said, sliding his bow back into its sheath. “This how I dress in what we call the Watchful Peace. In any case,” he went on, feigning an injured tone, “I would have thought that when you were meeting me for the first time in close to a decade you would greet me with something other than criticism of my attire.”

Of Healers
Somewhere Between Mirkwood and the Misty Mountains
Aragorn tried to get to his feet. He fell back with a soft groan. There was not a part of him that did not ache. In all his lessons in healing, he had never been as conscious of the number of muscles in the human body as he was now, when every last one of his was screaming in agony.

1. Which is your favourite fic?
I suppose that'd be a toss-up between An Elf-Lord in Peril and Knife and Sword.
2. Which is your best-received fic?
An Elf-Lord in Peril. (I suppose that's a sign that I should avoid the angst and stick to humour!)
3. Which is your worst-received fic?
Right now, What Dawn May Bring.
4. Which is your angsty-est fic?
A month ago I would have said The Parting of Our Ways, but now I suppose The End of All Things runs it a close second. (And so will Falling Shadow, soon.) Urgh... Sorry I can't be more definite about this one.
5. Which is your funniest fic?
Either An Elf-Lord in Peril or The Three Hunters and the Elven-King. I don't think there's much to choose between them for humour (although The Three Hunters does get a bit more serious towards the end).
6. Smuttiest?
Sorry, nothing here. ;-)
7. Fluffiest?
I've written plenty of plot-less fluff, but I think Spring beats all the others.
8. Have you ever made someone cry with your fic?
I've been told that both The Parting of Our Ways and The End of All Things made people cry. That makes me feel just a little guilty, but not enough to regret having written the fics... And of course it's wonderful to know that the stories have touched people.
9. Which fanfic frustrates you the most?
The Toys of War, as yet very much a WIP... It is meant (if it ever gets written) to be a series of connected one-shots about a summer Estel spends in Mirkwood learning archery. I've still not managed to get past the first chapter! *shakes head at self*
10. Which fic was the most fun to write?
Warriors, because it was my first Teitho entry and my first LOTR one-shot... I had a very good time with it. :-) And maybe The Story-Tellers, simply because it gave me so little trouble - it practically wrote itself!
11. Which of the OCs you created is your favourite?
Thorontur, although Arbellason gives him tough competition. I've had a lot of fun writing both of them!
12. Are you better at oneshot or multipart?
For once I'm in no doubt... I'm better at oneshot by far. *g*
13. Which character portrayal do you think is your best?
I honestly can't say... I like writing Aragorn, the twins, and the Mirkwood cast, but I don't know if the characterization is good and not too divergent from canon.
14. What character is the most difficult to portray?
Any hobbit, although I think Frodo would be the hardest of the lot.

The End of All Things

Warning: Not a warning, really, but the tone of this chapter has refused to stay as light as the others. *Looks pleadingly at Thranduil* I hope that doesn’t spoil it for anyone!
And now, to conclude… the third Hunter!

Part II: Audience with a Dwarf
“Are you sure it is safe?” Aragorn asked, glancing around nervously. The courtyard was quiet, far quieter than he had ever known it to be. There was only the occasional chirp from the birds, which would normally have been in full song at this hour. Even the horses in the stables seemed to be making no noise at all.

Author’s Note: This is sort of a sequel to An Elf-Lord in Peril (which also I will post here eventually), and so this story also owes thanks to Silivren Tinu for starting me on that line of thought. Le hannon, mellon nîn!
I’ve tried to keep the tone light, but it refuses to stay that way entirely. Still, there is nothing too angsty in this. The story will be in three chapters.

Summary: The War is won, Sauron has been defeated, and Legolas is finally returning home in the company of his friends. They have a furious Elven-king to face. Characters: Thranduil, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Elladan and Elrohir.
And now… Onward to the first Hunter!
Part I: Wayward Son
The small party that rode through the forest consisted of three Elves, a Man, and a Dwarf. In the lead was a young Elf with golden hair that shone brightly in the afternoon sun. He was several yards ahead of the others, despite the frequent detours he took to examine things that caught his attention.“It’s a good thing I’m riding with you, laddie,” the Dwarf grunted to the Man behind whom he was sitting. “The Elf would have driven me mad with his talk of trees and birds and – where is he going now?”
